Problems multiple computers, wrong files on wrong machines, wrong versions, old backups? Dropbox may be your solution to these problems!

Dropbox

Dropbox

When I use 2 or more computers at same time I sometimes just want to move one single file to another computer. I could set up FTP server, but that’s a bit overkill for moving single files… I could also move it to another server and download it from there or I could move it via samba…

Sometimes I just don’t want to think. I just want that my file goes from one computer to another. And this is where Dropbox is awesome. Dropbox instantly syncs files on it’s directory to it’s own cloud server and to other computers that are linked to the account. With small files it is awesome, but with bigger files it can be annoyingly slow, because it moves it first to Dropbox server and then downloads it to other computer.

Sharing files is also possible. After placing file to public directory, you can find public link via right click menu. With the link you can share any file to friend easily. Actually, this way to share files is one of the best ways. I personally like to upload my files to ftp server and then share link, but for most users Dropbox is the best way. (Ftp gives nice directory list and it is just more 1337 way to share stuff ;)

Best thing is that you get 2 gigs of free storage! (You can extend it to 3gigs by inviting friends… My own invite link below)

Try Dropbox now :)

WoW vs Muds

Games

After playing wow I noticed that wow is just 3d version of muds. Wow has many same features, but it lacks many. Wow is easier and “modern”.

Here is simple list features where wow is better than muds.

  • Easier
  • Modern “3d” graphs
  • Huge amount of players

And where muds are better than wow…

  • Choice (there is many muds to choose)
  • Challenging (Much much more challenging quests.)
  • Triggers, clients, scripts… (If you like programming, you love to write various scripts/triggers to your mud client)
  • Multi platform (Works on every platform and almost on every computer)
  • Open source (Want to make your own mud?
  • Great ideas (Interesting world, nice quests (not just “go kill that and come back”-like quests. You need your brains…)
  • Dynamic world. (Players can build their own castles and cities.)
  • Much more content. (More spells, More mobs, More eq, More everything)
  • Free

So, if you want something more challenging than wow, try muds. They are very fun when you learn them and it can take years to learn everything.

Only thing that I see why peoples play wow, is the graphics.

I recommend to try Batmud. It is very popular and great mud. It also has nice client that makes playing it easier.

Good luck… :)
