So I finally finished my PHP/MySQL RPG game project. It’s now running at http://powerslash.pelikoira.net

World

Usually on online games there isn’t world. There is just couple of missions and you just click “do it”. In Powerslash you need to actually do something. There is many tasks and worlds with various difficults. In some worlds you need to use your brains, on other worlds you can just kill everyone. Tile based game-engine allows developers to greate huge worlds with massive quests.

Non-commercial

This game is free. You can’t buy gold, you can’t buy premium accounts. With this nobody can take advance with real-life money. This game is free and will always be free. Yes, if you want to donate, you can do that. For donations you get nice icon to your profile and small unique in-game gift.

Advanced engine

Advanced game-engine allows unlimited amount of different items. Dynamic coding works with world and items. With this ability Powerslash has many interesting items and quests.

No time limits!

No more annoying waiting to get more power/hp/resource. If you want to play, you can play as much as you want. Powerslash won’t give stupid time limits.

No refering system!

Many online games give boost to players who refer ppl to game with annoying links. If you want to invite your friends, do it manually. There isn’t annoying refer-link spamming.

I have also planed to release this game under open source.

My last post about world war made up big flood of code spammers, but there were some people that wanted to cheat. That’s evil and should not be done. But some peoples wants to play World War on computer. I think that isn’t evil, but storm8 (creator of this game) may not like…

So this may get you banned. You have been warned.

There is a fully working application for playing this game (and others) on computer. It is easy to set up and works very well. There is also some kind of trigger systems that helps playing and automates boring stuff.

I really don’t know why I play world war. This game has so many clones (same game, different graphics) on app store that I just hate it. It’s multiplayer game yes, but communication with other players is broken. Talking to other ppl is hard and pointless, there is no reason to talk to anybody. Why this is then a mmorpg game? Everybody just spams their invite code. It’s the only reason why there is communication on this game.

So what’s the game about? Yeah, just press button, you attack, maybe won. Then go buy stuff, spam your invite code to get more ppl to your alliance.. And then do it again! Again and again… Until you want to whack your head trough wall.

Yea. Dead simply game where you repeat yourself n+1 times. And I can’t stop playing it! I hate myself now…

DO NOT TRY TO SCAM PEOPLE WITH SAYING THAT YOU GET MONEY, RESOURCE OR ANYTHING WHEN ADDING. JUST POST THE CODE, DONT TRY TO SCAM. EVERY TRY WILL BE DELETED. ALSO SPAMMING MULTITIPLE TIMES IS NOT ALLOWED.

I made a demonstration video for Batmud’s official client, Batclient. It is the coolest mud client that I have ever seen.

After playing wow I noticed that wow is just 3d version of muds. Wow has many same features, but it lacks many. Wow is easier and “modern”.

Here is simple list features where wow is better than muds.

• Easier
• Modern “3d” graphs
• Huge amount of players

And where muds are better than wow…

• Choice (there is many muds to choose)
• Challenging (Much much more challenging quests.)
• Triggers, clients, scripts… (If you like programming, you love to write various scripts/triggers to your mud client)
• Multi platform (Works on every platform and almost on every computer)
• Open source (Want to make your own mud?
• Great ideas (Interesting world, nice quests (not just “go kill that and come back”-like quests. You need your brains…)
• Dynamic world. (Players can build their own castles and cities.)
• Much more content. (More spells, More mobs, More eq, More everything)
• Free

So, if you want something more challenging than wow, try muds. They are very fun when you learn them and it can take years to learn everything.

Only thing that I see why peoples play wow, is the graphics.

I recommend to try Batmud. It is very popular and great mud. It also has nice client that makes playing it easier.
