I reviewed Awesome Note some time ago on this blog. Now creators of Awesome Note have released new version, so I think that it is good to do small update to the review.
- Stars – nice way to organize good notes away from random notes
- Undo/redo feature – this is built in on iPhone, but not a bad feature
- Todo feature – Create todo lists and tasks with due dates.
- Sort features – sort notes via date, stars, due date and so on.
Awesome note is even more awesome with this update. I am bit disappointed that they haven’t fix the security problem with “secure” folders… But it is great application anyway
Just don’t store anything critical on it.
(and yes, I have send a bug report about the security)

Awesome note is beautiful note taking application for iPod touch/iPhone. It is one of the coolest app I have seen. At home page of the application, there is nice list of folders where notes can be inserted. Appearance of folders and notes can be easily changed. Font size and family can also be modified.

Home screen of Awesome note
Quick memo button allows you to create notes with just tap of one button. This is very handy feature if you are in hurry and need to just type your note to something. Later you can move the quick memo to normal notes or clear it.
The reason why I bought this app was Google Docs integration. There is two options for Google Docs. First is backup/restore of all notes another is for moving documents from/to Awesome note/Google docs. And it really works! It is fast, easy and clean. Documents with formation will be automatically cleaned for Awesome note, so easy to download document from Google Docs. Making changes isn’t so easy, because the formation lost. But for uploading documents to Google Docs, this is the best app that I have seen.
There is only two minor problems that I would like to get fixed. First is way to change background of single note, there is only one button and it will only change to next theme, so if you want that last theme on the list, you need to click the same button many times, and if you accidentally go over the background you wanted, you have to start the changing again.
Another problem is the “secure” folder. The problem with it is that it isn’t secure. If you delete folder with password and choose that you want keep the notes, you can access them without the password!
It costs 2.99e. If you need Google docs integration or just Awesome app for notes, buy it.

Uptime. Simple value that tells how long something has been running.
It is is way to see stability of the system/app, but It is very accurate way to check it.
Mostly uptime is used to show that someone has better uptime than someone else. With servers it is much easier to get hundreds days of uptimes, but with personal computer it is little harder.(?) There is more power outages and system is usually used daily, so changes that something goes wrong and screws up system. Updates are also very popular reason to reboot computer.
Most of computer owners shut downs the system for night. This is the most popular way to ruin uptime. I personally have to close my computer, because my hard-disc is bit noisy and I can’t sleep well while my computer is running…
I have currently 2 systems where I have semi-good uptimes. (imo)
- Irssi 70d uptime and counting| last reason to close: server reboots
- iPod Touch 18d uptime and counting| Last reason to boot: battery outage
IPods uptime may not be great, but the irssi uptime is one of the highest that I have seen. If you have seen better uptime, please tell me
Mostly I only try to beat my own uptimes.

Ego is simple app for iPhone/iPod touch that displays many stats in one simple view. Ego supports couple of web stats systems. Google analytics is maybe the most popular stats tracking tool, so it is included. But Ego also supports Squarespace, Mint, Google pagerank, Feedburner and Twitter.
Configuring application is fast and simple. Application is mostly just beautiful list of all the stats. If you have multitiple websites, Ego is perfect way to check all the sites once.
I would like to have some more stats, like graphs and pie charts, but still this application is worth of the 1.5€
If you are addicted to stats I recommend to try this app.
To see this app in action, go to Ego app’s homepage. There is nice video of the app.

My last post about world war made up big flood of code spammers, but there were some people that wanted to cheat. That’s evil and should not be done. But some peoples wants to play World War on computer. I think that isn’t evil, but storm8 (creator of this game) may not like…
So this may get you banned. You have been warned.
There is a fully working application for playing this game (and others) on computer. It is easy to set up and works very well. There is also some kind of trigger systems that helps playing and automates boring stuff.

This site requires registration, if you are not able to register to their site, you are noob and you should not try to use this app.
And here is screenshot of the ToolSuite application:

Ye. My nickname is on the screenshot, but so what? I am not addicted to this game anymore.
Big thanks to Flush for sending me the link to this app.
