So… When the Google Wave was first time announced I registered myself for invite. And I got the invite couple days ago. (I have used all of my invites, so don’t bother asking for them) But I couldn’t use wave until now, because nobody of my friends had Google Wave.

But today one of my invites that I send was activated and I could test the Google Wave. The real time typing/editing is awesome. No more waiting for reply, conversation is much more faster and flexible.

I believe that Google Wave is not going to kill email. But it will definitely going to make co-working easier. For project management/brainstorming Google Wave could be awesome.

As this is Beta/Preview of the Wave, all of the features that I would like to see isn’t at Wave yet. Example extension/settings stuff is missing. I hope that the system allows me to integrate email, Twitter and Google Reader to Wave.

So why away nick on irc sucks? There is couple of good reasons…

• Spam – If you are on couple channels and use away lots… You generate lots of unwated spam to channels/queries.
• Wrong nick – if you use away nick and someone wants to contact you. He uses /whois and it looks like you are not at your computer…
• Someone can stole your nick – And talk as he would be you…
• Who cares? – 99% of people don’t want to know what you are doing. If they want, they can see it in your away status.

Use /away command!

Just type “/away <reason>” and you don’t generate spam, annoy people and just be stupid. When you use away and someone uses /whois at you, they see why you are away, some networks even give idle time.

So please, don’t use the away nick.

This blog haven’t been for a long time on the internet, but there is already 18 comments. (and 2 spams) But nobody have a cool Gravatar! On Wordpress, there is build in support for Gravatars.

Idea of Gravatar is simple. When you have created a account to Gravatar, you can upload your avatar. When you post a comment blogs, your Gravatar is automatically placed by your comment. You don’t have to register to every website to get a avatar, Gravatar finds your avatar with your email-address.

With one avatar change you can change all of your avatars easily.

So if you don’t have Gravatar, go get it!

I got banned on digg because I used script called “digg friends easier“. It is not a automatic “robot” script that diggs automatically. It just makes easier to digg friends stories. I don’t think that it is big problem.

After reading couple of other stories about diggs banns. I realized that digg is trying to stop top users to dominate the front page. The main way to use your “popularity” to gain diggs is tp shout/share stories with friends. It looks like digg admins don’t want that peoples uses shout system.

But why they don’t want that I share stories with my friends! Is it against the rules? If they don’t want that people share stories, then remove the shout system. Without shout system digg would be better place for everyone.

Then, why they can’t send a warning first that someone is doing something that they don’t like? Example, if I get a warning. I would remove every script and disable shouting, but no, they can’t warn me.

Biggest issue is that I dont have any site where I can go. Digg is simple the best. I used digg every day, it was always open on my another computer, I always checked what cool was submitted. I loved digg, I still love it, but I cant use it anymore.

Tips for users that haven’t yet got banned: Disable shout system, remove every single scripts that affects way of digg works. (maybe even adblock) Keep your recent diggs low. Do not shout or digg shouts you receive. Do not share stories with your friends.
